Get-the-Look: The Hobbit- Clothes To Go On An Adventure In!

Hey lovelies!

So anyone who knows me knows that I am a humongous fan of The Hobbit, and in honor of not only the DVD coming out but also the special look at the sequel, I have decided to come up with a Get-the-Look for a few of the characters (and having seen the film multiple times in theatres I've gotten a pretty good look at how the costume designers put together each look) and will be doing so for the upcoming releases of the las two installments- so WOOHOO two-three more years of The Hobbit Get-the-Looks. Now don't worry, I didn't put together looks that will have you carry 25 lbs in a travel sack (although you can if you want) but I did find the items at stores that are of reasonable price, and in most of the looks items are repeated for not only efficiency, but also for the use in other outfits- not just these. Also, all the looks can be worn spring-fall! Huzzah!

Bilbo Look 1:

So here we have my first look for Biblo! As you can see, I have added a red faux-leather jacket, a spring green light knit cardigan, a white peplum top with detailing around the collar with spring yellow capris pants and brown flats. To accessorize I found a simple brown belt with a gold buckle, and emerald green handbag with detailing, and beautiful flower earrings and a quiant charm bracelet.

Bilbo Look 2:

For my second Bilbo look, I decided to put together the same red faux-leather jacket with a skater dress with lace detailing, a thin and simple green belt with a bronze buckle, a light brown shoulder bag, cute yellow flats and to accesorize a different pair of flower earrings and a different- yet still quiant- charm bracelet.

Next up we have Bofur the dwarf!

Original look

Bofur Look 1:

For Bofur's look it is obvious he wears much darker, gritier colors seeing as he is a dwarf. So sticking to that knowledge I placed together a brown faux-leather jacket with a stretch brown cami, dark wash skinny jeans (which if you prefer can be switched out with dark wash boot cut or flare or whatever), and mid-calf black buckled boots. To accesorize, I added a simple silver chain necklace with a scarf to add a pop of color, a few thick bracelets, a thin silver belt with a silver buckle, and lastly a faux-leather brown bag.

Bofur Look 2:

In Bofur's second look, I kept all of the accessories, the jacket, and the tank but switched out the jeans for a dark grey skirt with button detailing. If you're interested in taking a further look into each item, the links are as follows:

Dwalin time!

Original look

Original look

Dwalin Look 1:

Dwalin is no doubt a very tough dwarf and the key thing with his look is the sleevless vest. SOOOOoooooOOOO here I put together a look that is both tough, sleeveless, and still comfortable. A forest green vest, an electric green knit tank, simple black shorts, ankle boots with fuzzy cuffs (linked back to his fuzzy vest) and to accessorize a small shoulder bag with cross decoration and a pair of simple bolt stud earrings.

Dwalin Look 2:

My second Dwalin look is still tough, but in a dress. I kept the vest, earrings, and shoes but simply switched out the remaining pieces with an army green skater dress, a slightly larger shoulder bag, tribal print bracelets (to match his tatoos) and there we have it! Did somebody say Ori?

Ori Look 1:

For the adorable Ori's look, the color purple and knit wear comes into play. Here is a cardigan in an electric purple, and lightweight knit top in a grey goose color, acid washed purple capris, black flats with bow embelishment, a gritty black and whit fashion scarf and a simple, thin black belt with a silver belt. I completed the look with a heart ring, and a few purple and silver bracelets with matching earrings.

Ori Look 2:

For Ori's second look, I kept all but the shoes and capris. I instead placed into the look some lavendar shorts and to elongate the leg, some black buckled ankle boots! If you are interested in taking a further look into each item, the links are as follows:

"Fili. And Kili. At you're service."

Original look

Fili Look 1:

Original look

For Fili's look, he wears more browns and oranges- and being part of the royal line, has a bit of regality apart of his attire while still keeping the rough and tumble side of his personality visible. With that being said, I kept that same air in both his and his little bro's look. A light brown faux-leather bomber jacket, a coral colored lightweight top, dark wash jeans, durable mid-calf lace up boots, a tan weaved belt, and a simple pocketed shoulder bag. To accessorize, and arrowhead necklace, a faux-leather black cuff with emebelishment, and a few gold rings with tribal print.

Fili Look 2:

Fili's second look includes the same jacket, boots, bag, and necklace, only now with a coral colored dress, a chunky gold bracelet (mimicking the patterns on his original attire), and silver clumped studs! Kili Look 1:

Original look

Out of the two brothers, Kili wears blues, silvers, and blacks- and like his brother- is part of the royal line and keeps an air of regality while still keeping the energetic, eager, and playful side showing. I've paired a jean jacket with a dark blue bowler shirt, dark wash jeans, black mid-calf boots with red laces, a black weaved belt with a silver buckle, and a black bag with gold embelishments. To accessorize, silver and blue earrings and a gold arrow ring.

Kili's second look includes the same bag, jacket, and shoes but now paired with a blue dress with black detailing (mimicking the patterns on his original attire), a large detailed necklace, a large bracelet, and silver clump studs. Thorin:

Thorin Look 1:

Majestic. Fantastic hair. Stubborn. No, I am not talking about a pony, I am describing Thorin Oakenshield. Yep. The crowned prince himself. You know, the uncle to Kili and Fili. Yeah, anyways. For his look keeping his head held high and being strong for his people really reflects in his attire and I tried to reflect it back through mine. I paired a black biker jacket with a flowy tribal print shirt, dark wash jeans, a balck handbag, a thick black belt with a silver buckle, and black buckled ankle boots. I accessories with a necklace that has a mimicking pattern of his original outfit, a ring that reminded me of his sheild, and a bracelet which has a pattern not only matching his original tunic, but also reminds me of Smaug's scales (symbolism much for how he and Smaug have one or two things in common- more so in fact that they might not say?).

Thorin Look 2:

Thorin's second look kept the same accessories (minus the belt, but feel free to add it if you'd like) and biker jacket, but I've switched out the bag for one with more studs and bolts for embelishment, yet still black. I've also added a smoke blue cami and a black with blue stripe and the shoes are now taller mid-calf boots with a double buckle. Elf Look 1:

Original look

Original look

The elves are beautiful creatures of elegance and grace so I put together two looks I think reflect that. I placed a white lace shirt with creame colored lace patterned pants, simple taupe flats, a jeweled gold bracelet and a jeweled thin and silver headband.

Elf Look 2:

For the second look I kept the same shirt, headband, and bracelet but exchanged the bottoms and shoes for a long flowing skirt (please note the skirt DOES NOT have to be blue because the elves are dying and are in the autumn and blue really isn't at all an autumn color) and gypsy sandals. Gandalf Look 1:

Original look

Original look

Gandalf's look is made up of light grey colors (obviously) and I think is really blended nicely in this first look. I have a flowy dark grey shirt with jewel embelishments and light wash jeans with silver thread. A weaved black belt matches nicely to the outfit and compliments the light grey bag. Of course we have his signature sparkly grey scarf (it's in the book OK?) and high-calf liquid silver slouch silver boots.

Gandalf Look 2:

Gandalf's second look is a simple, long grey dress that is very lightweight, the same boots, bag, and belt, the signature sparkly scarf (a favorite of mine, if you were wondering) and now a simple pendant necklace. The only thing missing is some hobbit weed. If you were interested in taking a further look into each item, the links are as follows:

Radagast Look 1:

Original look

Original look
Radagast's look is very earthy and nature orientated, so clearly like in his attire in the film, I replecated that same feel. A slouchy and flowy cardigan and a simple brown cami mathced with a simple taupe skirt, brown ankle boots with a bronze buckle, a green scarf, a brown bag with plenty of pockets, feather earrings, and a weaved watch.

Radagast Look 2:

For the second Radagast look, I kept the accessories and shoes, but replaced the main outfit with a light brown/ taupe shirt and medium wash jeans. If you are interested in taking a further look at each item, the links are as follows:

Gollum Look 1:
Original look

Original look

Gollum's look was a bit tricky seeing as he doesn't wear clothes- only a loin cloth. But taking that into consideration, he does have skin and his skin is what these next two looks are modled after as well as the loin cloth. The shirt and the jeans in this look have a somewhat tattered back to match the look of his cloth. There is a simple taupe belt and gladitor shoes with gold circles for embelishment and gold hoop earrings (nudge nudge wink wink).

Gollum Look 2:

This second look has a creame colored crinkled cami to replicate his skin and a flowy skirt that could almost look shredded (in a good way). The same gladiator shoes in a different color, a gold circle chain belt and a pair of different gold hoops (again wink wink nudge nudge) are placed here to complete the look!
